FAQ
What type of preclinical studies benefit from histopathology services?
Pathology workflows can be part of different kinds of preclinical studies, such as:
- Animal models of human disease
- Non-GLP toxicity, safety, and efficacy
- Medical device testing
- Target animal safety (TAS)
We regularly contribute to drug discovery and development pipelines in therapeutic fields including oncology, nephrology, cardio-metabolic, and neurology.
What type of tissues do the histopathological assessments cover?
We frequently receive samples from a variety of tissues including breast, kidney, and brain, and can customize our methods to optimally suit the tissue in question. Fluids can be processed to FFPE blocks or thin layer slides
- Neuroendocrine pathology
- Bone and Soft Tissue Pathology
- Breast Pathology
- Cardiovascular Pathology
- Dermatopathology
- Head nad Neck (ENT)
- Gastrointestinal Pathology
- Genitourinary Pathology
- Gynecologic Pathology
- Hematopathlogy
- Neuropathology
- Obstetric and Perinatal Pathology
- Pulmonary Pathology
- Renal Pathology
Do you only work with typical laboratory animals like rats and mice?
We regularly perform pathological analyses not only for typical laboratory animals but also poultry and larger animals like cows or horses. Our workflows are also suitable for non-human primates (GLP) rabbit, sheep, goat, minipig, broilers, etc.
Do you provide quantitative analyses?
Yes. We offer tissue segmentation, cell counting, cell clustering, among other quantitative image analyses which can be customized depending on your research question. Our AI-driven and automated workflows under development will become particularly valuable assets for quantitative analyses in the near future.
What kind of human disease subspecialties are covered within the Connected-Pathology team?
Connected-Pathology is always growing and continually adding sub-specialties to our capabilities within the field of pathology however we currently offer expert and in-depth analysis within the following human diseases:
- Degenerative diseases
- Oncology diseases
- Metabolic diseases
- Infectious diseases
How do we rationalize the cost of your study?
With our in-house expertise and guidance, we can facilitate flexible study designs to suit your research goals and budget.
The Connected-Pathology team can be as involved in your project as is needed. We calculate our costs based only on the services you need, combined with the size of your project.
Our two step design process is aimed at guiding a cost efficient workflow that draws on the knowledge of our pathologists. This process helps you achieve the most accurate outcomes with as little expenditure as possible.
If however, you already have your target antigen in mind? We can validate your antibody in-house or if we already have it available, can begin your study with IHC staining methods for in-depth results on your specimens. These are all options that vary in cost but are dependent on the services you need to be fulfilled.
